Provide guidance, support, and coordination in the consistent and effective application of policies, procedures, and practices of our Human Resource department. This position performs a variety of routine, complex, and technical duties in a variety of functional areas including onboarding/new hire orientation, performance evaluations, payroll, and records management. This position will also serve as the first point of contact for employees and the public and perform administrative duties to contribute to efficient office operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assist in the administering of benefit open enrollment.
2. Coach and assist employees with workplace issues.
3. Workers Compensation - tracking claims, completing necessary paperwork.
4. Timecard review.
5. Recruit for open positions by creating job postings, reviewing resumes, phone screening potential candidates, scheduling interviews and shadows, conducting reference checks for janitorial staff.
6. Follow up on new hire training and onboarding post hire.
7. Assist with New Employee Orientation including preparing onboarding requirements, background checks.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
2. Extensive knowledge of computer software, MS office, HRIS, Payroll programs.
3. Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
4. Excellent grammar and written communication skills as well as oral communication skills.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business management, business administration, or other relevant field, with PHR or SPHR certification preferred; or, a combination of education and experience which would provide the applicant with the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job.
3-5 Years experience as a Generalist
Previous Healthcare or Community Health experience a plus
